This is the second consecutive year that Best Companies Group (BCG) and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune named ITelagen to this exclusive list since our company relocated its headquarters to Sarasota in 2017.
Employee Feedback Drives Rankings
Best Places to Work is a survey competition to determine the best employers in the counties of Sarasota and Manatee, Florida. This particular award is especially meaningful because it incorporates both employer and employee feedback. Employers complete in-depth questionnaires about company policies, practices, benefits and demographics. Employees complete surveys about their engagement and satisfaction, including several open-ended questions to provide detailed feedback.
We receive a summary of the results, including anonymous responses to the open-ended questions which we review carefully to understand what is working well and areas where we can improve. We use this feedback as a tool to continually find new ways to make ITelagen a better place to work.
ITelagen and Sarasota
ITelagen’s mission is to help medical practices improve clinical, financial and operational outcomes by delivering Electronic Health Records (EHRs) and innovative technology solutions like cloud hosting and cybersecurity. We also provide IT support services so customers can focus on their patients instead of worrying about system issues.
We moved ITelagen’s headquarters to Sarasota in March 2017 to offer our employees a great quality of life at a low cost, with no state income tax. We also wanted to create a unique work experience where employees would want to spend time. We completely redesigned a 6,000 square foot space that is big enough for the business to grow and offers a fun environment. It has a creative, colorful design and amenities like a game room, gym, full-size kitchen/bistro with free snacks and drinks, and daycare in the complex.
We also emphasize career growth opportunities. A great example is our Professional Development Program, which gives support staff the opportunity to increase their salary through industry certifications. If someone wants to pursue a relevant certification, ITelagen pays for it including time off to study and take the exam. It’s a win-win for everyone because our people grow their knowledge and salary, we increase our in-house expertise, and customers have more knowledge at their disposal.
